Who writes this
Every guide on this site is written and reviewed by a licensed California attorney who trained at some of the top institutions in California and has tried multiple criminal cases. Nothing is published here that the attorney has not personally reviewed, and guides are updated as the law changes.
The author prefers to remain anonymous. That is a deliberate choice: it means the work has to stand entirely on its own merits. Every article cites the actual statutes, explains how courtrooms really operate, and tells you honestly when you can handle something yourself and when you need a lawyer.
Why I write anonymously
People are right to be a little suspicious of anonymous advice, especially about the law. So here is the honest why.
I am not selling anything. This site takes no clients, runs no ads for my own practice, and has no “hire me” button. Nothing here routes you toward paying me or anyone else. If the whole thing is free and I am not collecting your business, my name adds nothing you actually need.
It keeps the focus on the information, not on me. Most named-attorney websites are marketing: the headshot, the credentials, the case results all exist to make you call. I wanted the opposite. When you cannot hire the author, the only thing left to judge is whether the guide is accurate and genuinely useful.
It lets me be honest. I write plainly about what judges and prosecutors actually do, and I have shared my own history with addiction and the justice system. That kind of candor is easier, and better for everyone, without a name and a firm attached to it.
Anonymous is not unaccountable. I am a licensed California attorney, I trained at some of the state’s top institutions, and I have tried multiple criminal cases. I write and review every guide here myself. Staying anonymous is a choice about focus, not a way to dodge responsibility. The work has to stand entirely on its own.
Why this site is free
Because there is nothing else like it. Legal information online is mostly confusing, outdated, or written to scare you into a phone call. This site was built so that anyone can learn about the law in a safe, easy-to-understand environment, for free, with no sales pitch waiting at the bottom of the page.

That is not an abstract mission statement. The author has lived the other side of this system, addiction, arrest, recovery, and wrote about it openly: My Story to Recovery.
